Classroom Expectations
I have the following expectations for all students in all my classes:
L isten to Directions--When listening, ask yourself if you understand all parts of the directions. Raise your hand and ask questions if you need more information.
E nter and Exit the classroom prepared--You should have your binder, a pencil, your CHARGED ChromeBook, and your Social Studies textbook EVERY class period. When you leave, you should know what needs to be completed for the next class period.
A lways give your best effort--You get out of class what you put into it. Try, try, try again.
R espect property and others--Use your class time wisely. Keep your hands to yourself. Think, first, before speaking.
N o excuses!--YOU are responsible for your own behavior.
Following these simple expectations will ensure that you will LEARN as much as you can during your time in our class.

Absent & Late Work
At the start of every week, I will update the agenda on our Google classroom site. When a student returns from an absence, they are responsible to check these sources to see what was missed. If any worksheets are needed the student will need to get a copy from me. Students may check with other classmates about the missed assignments at an appropriate time, or check me with for further understanding. Be sure to turn in any work that was due on the day that you were absent into appropriate class hour basket. Please also write the word "Absent" on the top of the paper.
My expectation is that all students will complete all work and turn it in on the day it is due. Please be sure to check MiStar often to see if you/your child has any missing assignments. If assignments are shown as "Missing" in MiStar, the grade is a zero until that assignment is turned in. I will gladly accept any missing assignments, without penalty, up until the unit assessment for that subject matter is given. Late work will be graded and entered into MiStar in a timely way, but your cooperation is appreciated in understanding that late work may often be an exception to the one week rule. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
MiStar & Grading
As part of the district-wide emphasis to connect parents and students with their progress electronically, I will be using MiStar to communicate student academic progress. I would encourage you to log on to your account at least once every two weeks to see how you are progressing.
If you are working on becoming connected through MiStar and need assistance, please go to [email protected] for help.
Pathfinder practices mastery learning for student grades. The categories include:
80% Summative- (Examples: tests/quizzes, projects, etc. that reflect mastery in the skills taught)
20% Formative- (Examples: class work, homework, discussions, etc.)
**Test re-takes will be allowed only after meeting with me to determine the work that must be completed to show growth in the skills taught. This may require time after school and will need parent permission.**
